Dubai experiences some of the highest solar irradiance levels on Earth. When your bonnet sits in direct mid-day sunlight in July, surface temperatures routinely exceed 78°C (172°F). At these extreme temperatures, organic carnauba waxes liquefy and evaporate within 48 hours.
Furthermore, atmospheric humidity carries microscopic marine salt crystals from the Arabian Gulf. When mixed with windblown desert silt containing quartz particles, ordinary wiping acts like 2000-grit sandpaper against delicate clearcoats.
The practical defence is routine: a proper wash every week or two so salt and silt never sit on the paint, body waxing to keep a sacrificial layer on top, and a 3-stage polish once or twice a year to clear the marks that do get through.
